Denmark's Dagrofa Appoints New Chief Financial Officer

Danish retailer Dagrofa, which operates the SPAR, Meny, and Kiwi brands in the country, has appointed a new chief financial officer.

The group has appointed Thomas Thellersen Børne to the position, who is set to commence his role in November.

New Appointment

Børner joins Dagrofa from his position as CFO/DSO at DSB, where he has been since 2015.

At the retailer, he will be in charge of finance, group law  and compliance, property development, IT and group durchasing, Dagrofa said.

He will also play an important role in the further development and implementation of Dagrofa's new #FremgangSammen strategy, the retailer added.

Dagrofa's CEO Tomas Pietrangeli said that he was looking forward to further strengthening the organisation and welcomed the new CEO, saying, "Our new strategy #FremgangSammen is about creating targeted growth across the group, and with Thomas on the team, we are even stronger in the ambitious transformation we are going through.

"He joins us from one of Denmark's largest companies with a highly relevant and solid experience in finance, property development, and IT, which are some of the cornerstones of our strategy."

Pietrangeli also commented on the outgoing CFO, Henrik Christiansen, adding, "I would also like to say a big thank you to Henrik Christiansen, who in his role as CFO for the past 7½ years has been a key player in the positive development that we have achieved in Dagrofa. I personally wish him all the best in his future career."

Plans For The Future

Over the next three years, Dagrofa is set to invest more than DKK 1 billion (€130 million) in developing a more customer-oriented strategy with a focus on digitisation, the opening of more stores, and a strengthening of the range.

Commenting on the future plans of the group, incoming CFO Børner said, "I am incredibly looking forward to being a part of the commercial energy that is in the food industry and Dagrofa. It is an exciting and ambitious group, where results are created through a strong collaborative culture, and it is a good match for me.

"I look forward to throwing myself into the strategic plans and the daily work together with all the skilled employees and independent merchants in Dagrofa."
