Independent Retailers Are Keen To Join Spar Hungary

EPR Retail News has reported that more than 80 independent retailers have joined Spar Hungary since the introduction of sub-licensing in 2012 - adding over 100 Spar stores nationwide and providing employment for over 1,300 people.

Incentives for a retail partnership with Spar are its good transport logistics and marketing support as well as the access given to its IT systems and 'SuperShop' loyalty programme.

Independent retailers Gábor Bruzsa and Tímea Bruzsáné Révész have recently joined Spar as independent retailers and opened a store in the Zugló district of Budapest. The new shop now features the regular Spar lay-out: fresh produce shelving , meat- and delicatessen counters and an open bakery. The shop offers around 4,000 products and carries the majority of the Spar Private Label range.

"The 500 m2 store has been completely renovated, implementing modern elements for a growing business. Dependent on consumer response, the reopening of the store may create up to eight new jobs," said Erwin Schmuck, Managing Director of Spar Hungary.
