Amazon Launches New Private-Label Snack Line

Online giant Amazon is pushing its way further into the grocery sector with its new private-label food offering, a snack line called Wickedly Prime. It is only available to Prime customers in the US. The company launched it prior to Christmas, with little fanfare, according to reports.

With the motto 'Some eat to live, we live to eat,' the snack range includes options such as popcorn, blue-corn and sweet-potato tortilla chips, and soft-shelled almonds. The site also offers recipes for appetisers made with the private-label line.

Wickedly Prime is the first brand outside of Amazon Elements to be openly affiliated with the retailer.

Amazon's foray into the food sector has concerned some traditional retailers, who fear that its massive offer will eat into their profits.
