REWE Group Re-elects Erich Stockhausen As Chairman

REWE-ZENTRALFINANZ eG (RZF), the parent company of REWE Group, has re-elected Erich Stockhausen as its chairman for a third term of office at its ordinary general meeting in Kitzbühel.

Helmut Göttmann, chairman of the general works council, was re-elected as deputy chairman of the supervisory board.

At the general assembly, the company unanimously elected ten members from the shareholder side to the committee.

It also added two new members as shareholder representatives: Thomas Kunkel, board member of REWE Süd/Südwest eG, and Lutz Richrath, board member of REWE West eG.

The new members will replace the merchants Fritz Aupperle and Robert Schäfer on the board.

Schäfer will continue to be associated with the REWE group within the framework of committee work at REWE West eG.

Aupperle, who operates four REWE stores in Swabia, has been a member of the RZF supervisory board since 2007 and was part of the committees of REWE Süd/Südwest eG, since 1987.

He was awarded the Golden Honorary Pin of the DGRV, the highest award available in the German cooperative system for special services, during the annual conference of REWE Group.

Significant Contribution

DGRV (German Cooperative Confederation) board member, Andreas Schneider, commented, "Fritz Aupperle has made a significant contribution to cooperative involvement in Germany. He has been instrumental - opinionated as we know him - in promoting and further developing cooperation between regional cooperatives.

"Fritz Aupperle also distinguished himself by his rock-solid commitment to jointly agreed decisions and his drive to implement them. His work has had a positive impact on the entire committee and we would like to thank him very much for this."

Stockhausen added, “As an extremely successful businessman, Fritz Aupperle shaped and promoted the independent retail trade of REWE in the south-west like hardly anyone else.

"As a 'REWEan' through and through, he always stood and still stands straight for the concerns of the merchants as well as for the interests of the group as a whole. I am glad and grateful to have had him as a valuable partner in our supervisory board team."
